What is included in the hire rate quoted?

The rate being quoted will include the hire rate, unlimited kilometers for 4 days plus, comprehensive insurance, and GST (Governemnt Goods and Services Tax). 1 to 3 day hires have rates tailored to suit. All rates are in New Zealand dollars.

How does the daily rate calculate?

The calculated daily rate is on a per day basis and is for a minimum of 24 hrs Collection and return of vehicles are during business hours. Outside of business hours will be by individual branch arrangement. Part days can be charged as follows:
  • Up to 1 hr (after the first day) - No additional cost
  • 1-2 hrs at 20% of daily rate
  • 2-3 hr at 40% of daily rate
  • 3-4 hrs at 60% of daily rate
  • 4-5hrs at 80% of daily rate
  • 5-24hrs at 100% of daily rate

Is insurance included in the rate?

Comprehensive insurance is included in the daily rate. An insurance excess does apply subject to age and vehicle type. A $1200 car insurance excess applies to 25yrs and over. Under age drivers have an additional $500 (21yr to 25yr) and (18yr to 21yr). A higher excess will apply to minibus, minicoaches and specialty vehicles. Optional Excess Reduction is available. CDR (Collision Damage Reduction) can be purchased as an option at the commencement of hire.

How do we pay for our hire?

All hires can be paid by Credit card, Eftpos, Cash or Travelers Cheques. An additional sum is required for a security bond.

What minimum age is the driver to be?

All drivers from the age of 18 yrs are eligible to drive

What type of license is required?

All drivers must have a Full Drivers License with a minimum of 3 yrs experience. An International License is also accepted along with the License of Country.

Is there a minimum hire period ?

There is no minimum period unless previously stated. A minimum hire period may apply when the vehicle is taken to a location different from the pickup location.

What are your cancellation fees?

Do you have Baby seats available?

Yes - most branches carry baby seats, and booster seats. Please ask when booking

Is the vehicle full of fuel at pickup and what fuel octane is used?

All vehicles are supplied FULL at the beginning of the hire and must be returned full at completion of the hire. Low octane 91 is used in all petrol vehicles unless stated on the Rental Agreement. Diesel vehicles take diesel fuel only.

What do we do in the event of a breakdown?

In the unlikely event of a breakdown call us on the Free call 0800 73 68 23 number for the matter to be attended to. If we are unable to rectify the fault in reasonable time a replacement vehicle will be supplied to you.

Do we pay a deposit when making a booking?

A deposit will be required for a Minibus or a Specialty vehicle, an amount no less that $100 minimum or 10% of the hire.. For long hires over peak season a deposit maybe required. This will be mentioned at booking.

Can we pickup and/or drop off the vehicle outside of office hours?

Arrangements for outside of office hours can be made with each branch. These will be made clear by each branch and there may be a small fee applied to cover any costs associated. The branch who you wish to deal with shall email /fax any additional cost along with the details of collection or pickup.

Are you able to pick us up?

Our team can arrange pickup from your accommodation, airport, ferry, and railway or elsewhere by arrangement. A service fee may apply. This also applies to drop offs.
